A level-set approach for a multi-scale cancer invasion model

The quest for a deeper understanding of the cancer growth and spread process focuses on naturally multiscale nature invasion, which requires an appropriate modeling analysis approach. cross-talk between dynamics cell population tissue scale (macroscale) proteolytic molecular processes along tumor border (microscale) plays particularly important role within invasion processes, leading to dramatic changes in morphology influencing overall pattern spread. Building moving boundary framework proposed Trucu et al. (Multiscale Model. Simul 11(1): 309-335), this work we propose new formulation involving novel derivation macro movement law based micro-dynamics, transport equation combined with level-set method. This is explored numerically finite element macro-micro cut-cells.
